Our Mission
The mission
of the Institute is to enhance the social, economic and educational
status of the Hispanic community by empowering its members,
through education and orientation, to seek and obtain better
career opportunities.
The Hispanic
Institute for Research and Development
of Bergen County, Inc., is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization
founded in 1984. The Institute operates an extensive adult
education program that offers Courses in English as a Second
Language (ESL), keyboarding, word processing, and other basic
business/office skills. Each year, more than 3,000 persons
register for the Institute's Courses.
Although it main focus is on the Hispanic community, the Institute
makes its courses available to all individuals regardless
of race, sex, religion, ethnicity, or national origin.
